Some New News!

Long time no update! Sorry we have been away for quite some time, but things have recently started brewing and we wanted to pass along the info to you!

Coming soon, we plan on re-releasing our debut album 0.1 Daylights Coming. Normally we would rather release a whole new record, but a opportunity presented itself and we didn't want to pass it up. Originally when we decided to release this record, we didn't know what we were doing, we thought we could just release it ourselves and everything would just fall into place. Well, a year has passed and while we are quite happy with the outcome we have had so far, we decided to team up with a distribution company SideCho Records, and re-release the album with 2 additional songs!

Starting this past week, Justin and Chad headed into the studio to lay down drums and bass on 2 new songs named "Walk on By", and "She Said Fine". We are quite excited about these 2 new songs and believe they fit quite well on the record, and make it a more complete effort.

In the meantime some may have noticed that our album is no longer available through iTunes, Amazon, etc. and this is the reason why. Soon we will have a new date and the album will be posted again! Also we are still working hard on album #2, and hope to start recording around the new year!

Now for some fun.... if you follow us on twitter (and if you don't please make sure you do at twitter.com/thebandVESTA) you may know that we are huge sports fans. And most of us are big fantasy football fans as well. So we decided to come up with some fun for this new season. We are going to create a Vesta Fantasy Football league! It will be a 10 team league, with 2 of the teams consisting of Team Fiedler & Kosker, and another of Team Chad & Justin. Whoever comes out on top will get to choose any song in the world and have us go into the studio and record it just for you! And we will throw in some other goodies as well. This will be a free game, and if you want to join, send us an email with FOOTBALL in the title and we will randomly draw 8 names.

Well thats all for now, we hope you are all enjoying your summer, and we look forward to seeing you at the TJT re-union shows!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hello out there! Sorry its been awhile since we last posted anything, we hope that you have all had a good 2009, and a better 2010! Here is some of our most memorable things from the past year!

CHAD - "My List Goes To Eleven":
1. Inglorious Basterds- Tarantino Blends his French New Wave & Film Noir influence into an Original American Classic orchestrating one of the most fulfilling and unforgettable climaxes in recent cinematic history.
2. Metric – Fantasies – Few modern albums have the ability to instantly satisfy as well as have the staying power to stick around all year
3. Dexter Season Four – Adding John Lithgow as Dexter’s prime nemesis this season was exciting and downright terrifying . Any memories of Harry and the Henderson’s good or bad are forgotten here.
4. The Road – A perfect and honest adaptation of McCarthy’s best seller in one of the best survival stories ever written and adapted to screen. Although Desperation and fear linger throughout the entire story, it’s inspiring and uplifting spirit of makes it a must see.
5. Them Crooked Vultures – So what if it’s just Queens of the Stone Age featuring John Paul Jones, what the hell’s wrong with that? The answer is nothing.
6. Brotherhood – In a world without The Wire & minus The Sopranos Brotherhood makes no apologies for being the best of both of these worlds. It’s gritty direction depicts the Corruption and Struggles of an Irish Family and their direct connection and influence in the politics and underground crime world of Providence, Rhode Island. Though the series ended before 2009, I’m recently just catching up.
7. Phoenix – Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix – What can I say about this? I heard one of their songs at the end of an Entourage Episode and wanted to hear more. The record reminds me of The Strokes taking a lot of Prozac. It makes me smile, it makes me want to dance when I don’t feel like dancing.
8. Ben Roethlisberger – Let’s face it, Our number one defense let us down this season and is the lonely reason we missed the playoffs. Roethlisberger finished the season with 4,328 yards (Steelers Record) and 26 TD passes. His 100.5 passer rating was the second time in his career over 100. Roethlisberger was voted as team MVP for the first time in his career. All of you haters can call Pompeani and cry your Blues that Dixon or Batch should be our starter, and I’ll hang up and listen.
9. Curb Your Enthusiasm - Larry David Truly is a modern day Woody Allen, What else is there really to say about him? Curb Consistently stays relevant and is one of the funniest shows on TV. The Black Swan Episode and a very creative Seinfeld Reunion are worth the admissions price alone.
10. Pearl Jam – Backspacer I put this on my list because it makes me happy when childhood bands of influence can still put out a significant album of relevance. Backspacer is fun, and charged and full of life and simply the bands best album since Yield.
11. Big Love – I’m am a legit fan of this series first two seasons though it took me a while to jump on board. Season 3 however was the first season where the writing, acting directing and story really stepped up and approached a whole new level of excellence. Nice to see this show finally get the recognition it deserves. Will someone please give Chloe Sevigny a freaking Emmy for her portrayal of Nicolette Grant already.

FIEDLER-
1. City of Champions - Since I could really make this a couple of my favorite things, I decided to condense it to 1. Steelers win their 6th Super Bowl, While the Pens get their 3rd ring all while playing in some of the best hockey games I have ever watched!
2. Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mysteries (the books True Blood are based off of) All nine books are completely amazing, I was so drawn in I read all 9 in a week and a half!
3. Metric "Fantasies" LP Such an underrated band and record. This band is one of the few bright spots in todays music combining originality, pop sensibilities, and overall just incredible music.
4. Paramore "Brand New Eyes" LP Another great record from start to finish, with an incredible recording to boot. I was hesitant thinking that their 3rd record wouldn't be that good, but I am glad I was wrong.
5. I saw an old friend post something about their "guilty pleasures" of 2009 mine would definitely be LADY GAGA. She is just awesome.
6. Placebo "Battle For The Sun" Another one of my favorites delivers in a big way
7. "Inglorious Basterds" Not a whole lot to say other than this is one of the best movies of all time. Being a person with a Jewish heritage, I just loved seeing Nazis being killed in the utmost brutal ways possible.
8. VESTA! I know its cheesy to mention my own band, but I put it here because of the whole idea. Not only do I love the record we put out, but I was re-united with my best friends and we get to play music on our own terms, not for anyone else. And it makes me proud to be a part of. 9. The FOX show DOLLHOUSE - Such an amazing show, and so so so pissed its getting the can. In a world where pretty much all we have are reality shows, and shows based in hospitals and crime scenes it was finally nice to see an original and very well thought out show, only to have it canceled during season 2.
10. NHL 2010 & MADDEN 10 - These games just keep getting better every year, and I will spend hours upon hours playing them. NHL 2010 is in my opinion the most realistic sports game of all time.
11 and BEST OF 2009. My Family - another cheesy answer but this year was awesome seeing my little daughter growing up so much. Me and my wife Chrissy could not be more proud of parents.

JUSTIN -
1. Them Crooked Vultures (Dave Grohl has been an idol of mine since I started playing drums 17 years ago" He used to drum for a little band known as Nirvana for those young ones reading this. This is a killer album! John Paul Jones (led Zeppelin youngsters) and Grohl are one of the tightest rhythm sections I have ever heard.
2. Relient K "Forget and Not Slow Down" This is a band I grew up listing too. They have definitely matured from their pop punk routes and this album definitely shows with their piano pop rock tunes.
3. In 2009 we also saw a lot of bands reunite. Reunions always kick ass! Two bands I was especially excited about. I grew up listening to them in many ways musically. The first was The Get up Kids, this is a pop punk band that not only had an impact on my but a lot of other bands that are big today. Pete Wentz once said "There should be a How To Be a Pop-Punk Kid starter kit with bands like Get Up Kids, so kids would know whose shoulders bands like us are standing on. Fall Out Boy would not be a band if it were not for The Get Up Kids." The second was Blink 182. I got the chance to see them in Pittsburgh. I felt like an old man being 27 when most were 17 but that's the impact this band has hd on so many. Travis is someone that has taught me a lot on drums. Not because he is a fast punk drummer. Because Travis is very diverse and can play punk, rock, rap, jazz etc... I try to be as well rounded on the drums as I possibly can be. Never settle... Don't stop at what you are comfortable at. Push yourself to that next level or style. It may be uncomfortable or awkward for a while but the more you do it the more you will develop it into your own style. Diversity is key. I grew up playing pop punk and now I drum indie rock. It's so much fun for me because it's different and it let's me get my creative juices flowing. Blink getting back together is also a life lesson. Mark, Tom, and Travis had it out for one another for years. Well Mark and Travis vs. Tom basically. It took Travis almost loosing his life to realize life isn't always a given. Someone can go at anytime. 2009 proves that with so many celebrity loses. Just appreciate every gift you are given and everyday that you wake up.
My show of 2009 in it's second season was definitely "True Blood" this is a fantastic show on how vampires should be portrayed. They can't come out in the day, they don't have glitter surround them when they come out in the daylight. It is just an awesome show with great actors, blood, guts, and a great story line that just keeps you on your feet and wanting more! If you don't have HBO get it! You won't regret it. I know Fieds and Chad will agree with me here.
Favorite movie of 2009 was by far Avatar. James Cameron had this vision for 15 years, however, he had to wait for the proper technology before he could make it a reality. This movie is a must see! See it in imax 3d for sure.
Overall 2009 has been an awesome year! I got married June 6th and Vesta released 0.1 Daylight's Coming October 6th. I have a lot to be thankful for and I am very excited for the future of Vesta and the music we have been writing is something that we area all very passionate about. Have a great new year! Be safe.
